The Goddess of the Loom

The Fates look down on mortals,
not wanting to show their treasure.
A girl with long brown hair is theirs to hide.
Her skill is wonderful beyong measure,
the Fates sit still and abide.
Her beautiful eyes are keen to weaving and looming,
and the sea she weaves is powerful and booming.
She spins an endless tale of golden thread,
then she will add silver, blue, green, and red.
The girl weaves a man upon the frame,
a human she desires.
The figure is tall and sraight,
a man that is required.
Her memory of thier meeting makes her happy as can be.
She loves him with all her heart,
and she tells the Fates with dignity.
The cruel Fates are sure thier treasure would go away,
and so they made cruel plans that day.
They weaved a thread and cut it
when thier treasure went to bed,
the girl wakes to find that her lover is dead.
She tells the Fates whom she hates,
she will never weave for them again.
I made this last year when I was in a shortened version of "The Odyssy." I do not know there is a Goddess of Looming in Greek Mythology, but I think there is.
